In 2017 we expanded our facility in Atlanta, and throughout 2018 the need to serve our customers in a more competitive and efficient manner, became urgent. Therefore, we decided to open a new US location in the trade show capital of the world: Las Vegas, Nevada.

Located in the Speedway Commerce Center – the largest industrial hub of the City – our new facility spreads over 16000 sqft. Inside the new location we have a brand new department for carpentry and painting, equipped with cutting edge equipment for the realization and customization of materials, and a department dedicated to storing furniture, platforms, electrical equipment, multimedia devices, panels and aluminum systems.Thanks to the structural and organizational completeness of the facility, it will be possible to satisfy all clients’ requests in a timely manner, and offer direct support, reducing response times and guaranteeing a punctual and resolutive service.

Las Vegas is amongst the main trade show locations worldwide: It hosts international events of great importance and affluence every year, featuring CES, KBIS, Pack Expo West, and SEMA Show. Furthermore, our new facility arises in a logistically strategic position which will allow for agile reach of cities along the west coast that host relevant events such as San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.

This is the 4th location of A&M Production worldwide, after Reggio-Emilia, Moscow, and Atlanta, and it is ready to offer the canonical high quality-standards which have always characterized A&M Production around the world.

Orlando, April 9th 2019 – Coverings 2019 opened its halls, for the 30th consecutive year. Visitors from all over the world were greeted with the soundtrack of its first edition from 1989, as they entered the Convention Center. Since that first edition, Coverings has established itself as the leading International Tile & Stone Exhibition and Conference in North America, attracting exhibitors and visitors from over 150 countries throughout the years.

This year also marks the 30th anniversary of A&M Production at Coverings. The Italian-based exhibit design and installation company has been designing and overseeing installation of exhibits at this event since its launch in 1989; 30 years of challenges and constant improvements to deliver the best experience.

Coverings 2019 was a particularly grand event for A&M, with over 29 exhibits delivered and covering over 2,520 square meters of surface. Among designers, project managers, account managers, craftsmen, and builders, the show saw over 90 A&M employees working together to ensure successful delivery of all projects.

This year’s event presented many challenges that required extremely targeted planning and deep knowledge of the market.

With a sold out event, space was tight during the installation period. Between countless exhibitors and confined hallways, the company’s expert logistics team played a crucial role in precisely aligning labor and resources to coordinate workers to meet the needs of their clients’ tilers. Through careful planning, A&M was able to optimize the work of all parties involved in the process, and finish the installation of all exhibit by late afternoon on the day prior to the show’s opening.

From design to logistics, everything had to be planned seamlessly. With the Atlanta facility and expert team, A&M Production offered flawless coordination of activities for a smooth process.

This year’s event was shaped around the history of the convention, while also looking toward the future, with pictures from past editions, and expert speakers discussing the future trend of the industry as well as overviewing the changes they witnessed. Throughout the 4 days, participants had the chance to explore demonstrations, networking opportunities, and take place in interactive learning features.

A lot has changed throughout the years, but one thing remains the same: commitment.

Exhibiting in the US can be an opportunity to make some headway in a market where anything is possible, but you have to know what you’re doing. You’ll encounter numerous different regulations and practices throughout the country that will affect various aspects of planning and producing your stand: everything from tiny details (such as the maximum allowable height of a stand) to the most fundamental matters (for example, the way things need to be delivered and unloaded at the venue site). The entire approach to setting up and managing exhibition stands in the United States is significantly different from the European tradition.

A few concrete examples?

• Some states, such as New York, Illinois, and Pennsylvania, require hiring union labor. This means the company can’t utilize their own staff or their preferred assembly team. Instead, they need to rely on a local labor pool, one often unfamiliar with European exhibition standards.
• In other states, such as Nevada, it’s possible to use your own staff, but you’re still required to employ union labor for the stand’s electrical installations.
• For unloading and material handling, you can’t just rent a basic forklift and unload everything yourself—you need to go through a general contractor who will charge based on the weight of the material unloaded after the event. This applies throughout the US.

Due to a lack of experience in the US, many foreign exhibition stand companies aren’t up to speed on all these rules and regulations, and risk running into unpleasant surprises such as stiff fines or huge, unexpected charges. Even worse, their inexperience could land the exhibitor in a truly serious situation.

To provide the best possible trade show exhibits service in the US, we decided to go all out by investing in a new local office. In this article, we’d like to introduce A&M’s new American home to our many clients and partners and tell you about how this significant milestone will help us achieve our American dream.

Arriving in America

Our first American office was inaugurated in Atlanta in 2014, after more than 30 years of long-distance project management. The reason was quite simple: the growing demand for exhibit installation in the United States dictated more streamlined transportation times and a more responsive and well-organized customer service team to support our Italian and European clients who needed to exhibit in the US, but were having difficulty finding the high exhibit standards they were accustomed to in Europe. A&M Production’s American adventure was launched at 560 Wharton Circle SW, in a small, 16.000 sqft warehouse. Today, in 2017, A&M has acquired a 36.000 square feet facility with a warehouse and offices, more than twice the size of our former location.

Our former location at 560 Wharton Circle, Atlanta, opened in January 2014, where everything started.

Sweet Home Georgia!

A&M’s new office is located south of Atlanta, Georgia’s capital, in the strategic Ellenwood area, near the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Not only did we find a home in Atlanta, but more importantly a crucial logistical and strategic center. Over these past three years, we’ve developed and nurtured reliable and profitable relationships with local suppliers and partners. Additionally, we’ve assembled an American team capable of successfully responding to any need for trade show exhibits in the United States that our Italian and European clients might have.

In addition to a larger space for storing materials and a spray booth, the new building provides enhanced operational performance thanks to a dedicated carpentry workspace fully equipped with all the basic equipment along with a latest-generation 5-axis CNC machine for woodworking.

• For our design, production, and installation partners, the office will serve as a reference point. Over the past few years we’ve produced an increasing number of exhibits in the US, not just for our direct clients, but also for other producers, both European and American, assisting them in carrying out their projects here in the US.
• For the local economy, the office will provide jobs, sincethe new American offices will require additional administrative and business staff members to achieve greater penetration in the local market.

With this office, we can currently meet the demand for exhibit design, production, and installation in all 50 states. In addition to major exhibit centers such as Las Vegas, Chicago, Orlando, Atlanta, and New York, we’re also currently producing frequent exhibits in Los Angeles, San Diego, Houston, Louisville, New Orleans, and Philadelphia.

Our future goal is to dedicate the Atlanta office exclusively to East Coast projects, setting up a small plant in Las Vegas dedicated solely to the West Coast.
