Event: Salone del Mobile

Description: Even bathroom furnishings have their own fashion show in Milan. It’s called the Salone del Mobile (The Milan Furniture Fair), and it’s the most important event of its kind in the world.

Cisal and Huber, both leaders in the designer bathroom fixtures industry, have joined forces. At an event like the Salone del Mobile, it’s essential for companies of this caliber to dress up their brand and products in a custom-made suit, so to speak. In other words, they need a stand that rises to the occasion.
For this event, we played the part of the tailor, working closely with the Rotella Architectural Agency who acted as the designer, planning a truly suitable exhibit experience.

The project called for dividing the space into 3 main areas: the zones dedicated to the Cisal and Huber brands were separate from the visitor reception lounge. The entire stand was finished with Oikos paint, rendering a soft, uniform color to the entire surface of the floor as well as to the internal and external walls, with the exception of some wall space decorated with Inkiostro Bianco wallcovering.
The Huber product display stands incorporated gray Abet laminate, illuminated with bands of LED lighting around the base, while the Cisal product display areas featured iron-framework walls faced with marble.

Burnished iron grating was then installed to create a crisp boundary between the Cisal and Huber display spaces and the visitor reception area. Hanging ceramic light fixtures and hand-crafted wall decorations added the finishing touches to the ambiance. The wall decorations were produced by students at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, and the different images were projected during the installation process, allowing them to be painted with the highest precision.

City: Orlando, FL

Description: The written word couldn’t possibly communicate the uniqueness of this stand. That said, the particular aspect of this project that we’d like to focus on is the lighting.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia AV Mediopadana railway station, Elica’s stand at the KBIS 2018 is a tunnel formed by asymmetrical arches creating a curving, sinusoid effect.
Lo spettacolo prende vita grazie all’illuminazione, concepita con raggi al led che corrono su tutte le coste interne dei portali.

But it’s the lighting that really brings this exhibit to life. Conceived as arrays of LED lights running along the entire inner edges of the portals, the effect was simply unique: a perfectly uniform light intensity with products illuminated from every angle without a single light source in the entire exhibit save for the bands of LED lights perfectly aligned along the contours of the structure.

Description: The structure featured over 11.000 square feet of floorspace with an 26-feet high gateway portal spanning 72 feet over the entire upper level of the stand without a single suspension point.

Definitely a striking, unique, luxurious exhibition, but we’d prefer to draw attention to the high-tech equipment roster supplied:

– 2 remote-controlled 4K video cameras dedicated to providing live images of the packing machinery
– 6 Brinno video cameras which created time-lapse images of the entire event, from set up to close
– High-resolution 6 x 4 meter LED wall screen
– 4K Samsung 82” monitor
– Barco 20000 AL video projector with optics and projection screen
– Clair Brothers audio system with 8 clusters per each array, 2 curved 12” kits, and 2 double 18” subs
– Video camera footage broadcast live to the LED wall screen, produced by a 4K WATCHOUT media server capable of simultaneously coordinating multiple video signals
– Footage of the stand captured by the Inspire 2 Cinema drone
